This achievement underscores our commitment to revolutionising healthcare communication by transforming traditional directories into a dynamic, cross-organisational network.

The Genesis of Foxo

Foxo was founded with a vision to evolve static healthcare directories into a live network facilitating seamless, health-contextual communication among healthcare professionals - physicians, nurses, pharmacists, allied health practitioners, administrators, and call centre staff - and their patients. Our platform enables secure, two-way digital interactions that enhance collaboration and patient care.

Reflecting on Our Growth

A year ago, at the Digital Health Festival, we celebrated reaching 92 Australian healthcare organisations within Foxo’s network. This initial success revealed that the challenges we faced were not solely about intent or technology but were fundamentally human:

Learning from Other Industries

To drive behavioural change at scale, we examined industries like fintech, where secure, frictionless transactions have transformed customer engagement. In e-commerce, consumers confidently interact as secure guests, and mobile-linked, seamless transfers are now standard. We envisioned applying similar principles to healthcare: providing secure, guest access and frictionless communication to accelerate adoption.

Evolving Our Approach

This insight led us to pivotal changes:

  • Expanding Access: Healthcare providers on the Foxo network can now securely receive cases from any health professional, facilitating two-way communication with external guests through their existing mobile devices or platforms.

  • Outbound Communication: Foxo users can securely reach out to any healthcare professional, allowing external guests to engage without the need for additional installations or downloads. This includes seamless collaboration with patients, physicians, and administrators via familiar platforms like Microsoft Teams.

  • Enhancing Efficiency with AI: We integrated AI-driven triage systems to manage increasing communication volumes, reducing friction and promoting equitable access - a digital doorway that remains open for all stakeholders.

  • Security and compliance: Our collaboration with Microsoft has played a pivotal role in delivering this capability at scale, ensuring enterprise-grade security, compliance, and a seamless user experience without the need for app downloads whilst delivering secure patient or referrer communication into any Microsoft Teams tenancy.
